This site is created in WordPress using the Edge Theme by Theme Freesia. Plugins include Go Gallery and WP Bakery Page Builder. Portfolio examples were screen-shot by Gillian Hinkle and processed in Adobe Photoshop to create a clean, consistent design. All verbiage was also written by Gillian Hinkle.

About This Site
I initially created this site over the course of three days as part of an interview process. I had successfully interviewed for a position when the recruiter contacted me requesting additional samples of my work. At first this puzzled me as the initial interview process required me to produce a sample blog and presentation specific to the job opportunity. Further conversation revealed that the team was surprised I could learn about and independently produce quality content on such short notice. The job was at a Fortune 500 technology company that specialized in machine learning and headless CMS solutions. I had taken a 12 year segue into non-profit education and had only recently returned to the corporate world. While I had been a strong phone candidate they were shocked that my in-person interview and presentation had completely out-stripped the other four finalists with years of recent high tech experience.
I wasn’t surprised at their confusion. The CMO and product owners actually started shouting at each other in the middle of my presentation. Each thought the other had given me some sort of inside information. I came to the conclusion that one or two samples would not lead to an effective discussion concerning my fit for the position. I requested the weekend to pull together a digital portfolio of my work. The recruiter was amenable to my request and I created this site.
I received a verbal offer for the job but before the final offer was made they experienced major shifts that included the acquisition of one company and the sale of their on-premise solutions. All hiring was placed on hold and I stayed with my current employer to focus on major projects that lasted through March 2019.
I am glad I went through the process of proving myself with that company. It cemented my desire to return to high tech; specifically cloud software solutions. I understand that the transition is a tough one to make but am confident that the right fit is out there.
This site is a great reference point as I seek the right position. Plus, I really enjoy the process of reflecting on the work I have done as it gives me opportunity to be more effective. To maintain confidentiality I have removed the pieces that would identify the client for whom the portfolio was originally created.
